How to Prepare Herbal Tea

Ingredients:

  • 1–2 teaspoons of dried herbs (or 1 tablespoon of fresh herbs) per 8 oz cup of water

  • Fresh, filtered water

Instructions:

  1. Boil the Water:
Bring water to a boil. Most herbal teas are best brewed with water at a full rolling boil (around 200–212°F / 93–100°C).

  2. Add the Herbs:
Place the herbs into a tea infuser, teapot, or directly into your cup.

  3. Pour and Steep:
Pour the hot water over the herbs.
Cover your cup or teapot to keep the steam in (this helps preserve the medicinal oils).
Steep for 5–15 minutes, depending on the herbs and your taste preference.

    • For a mild flavor: 5–7 minutes

    • For stronger effects (especially for medicinal use): 10–15 minutes

  4. Strain & Enjoy:
Remove the herbs or strain the tea. Drink warm or let cool. Add honey or lemon if desired.
